Hammersmith
& Fulham
Children's Parliament on the Environment
November
2002
On 12 November 2002, ten primary schools from the London
Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham entered the fourth annual Children's
Parliament on the Environment.
Representatives from each school gave a presentation on their chosen topic
before an assembly which included members of the Council, fellow pupils
from around the borough and representatives of local organisations and
businesses.
For this Parliament, the children researched our local links with the
global environment through themes like Climate Change and the Fashion
Industry. They also communicated via email with children around the world
to share experiences and ideas for change.
The Children's Parliament is a joint intitiative of Hammersmith and Fulham
Urban Studies Centre and the education and environment departments of
Hammersmith and Fulham Council.
The Council's Education Department has information on their website regarding
the Question
and Answer session that took place at the Parliament.
