Children’s Environmental Parliament Day 2023
Every year, in the spring term ,Year 6 classes work with us on Children’s Environmental Parliament projects, helping their schools take action on local environmental issues. The project is key in providing climate change education to year 6 children.
This year children from ten primary schools in Kensington and Chelsea and Hammersmith and Fulham had their say on green issues for the 20th Children’s Environmental Parliament. During the event at Kensington Town Hall on 22nd March, two elected speakers from 10 schools made presentations on their chosen topics, covering environmental and local issues.
At the Children’s Environmental Parliament, the students gave their presentations on topics such as food waste, air quality and local biodiversity, in the council chamber, before taking part in a feedback session with each other.
The project is supported by LB Hammersmith and Fulham and RB Kensington and Chelsea and the feedback is from students is very positive!
Please look at the project page for more info, photos and videos.
