INTRODUCTION

This project has involved children from St. Mary's School in West London learning about World War Two and its impact on people and places in their local area.

Photos of bomb damaged buildings, old business directories and maps featured in a History Trail around their school, which the children followed and discussed.

Local residents who lived through the war then joined the children and were guided around the trail by them.

Finally, these people shared their memories of the war with the children.
