Lovely Grand Union Canal walk this weekend!
Last Saturday a group of walkers took a lovely walk from Mitre Bridge, near Wormwood Scrubs to Little Venice, enjoying the sights and sounds of the Paddington Arm of the Grand Union Canal. The walk was about 3 miles in length- just right for a leisurely Saturday morning. We passed by Kensal Green Cemetery and walked through Meanwhile Gardens, admiring their new rustic bridge. There were plenty of waterbirds to see, including a large swooping heron and some amazing brightly coloured barges. We stopped at Little Venice for a cup of tea at the waterside floating cafe before turning into the more modern environment of Paddington Basin to catch a tube or bus back to Hammersmith. Look out for our autumn walks- coming soon!
