Discover and Share!
Our ‘Discover and Share!’ well-being project, supported by Westminster Council’s Community Priorities Programme aims to:
- Connect local people through participation in short arts courses, walks and visits to discover new things.
- Help to improve people’s wellbeing and mental health, and reduce their sense of isolation by spending time together learning about London’s heritage and culture.
- Promote awareness of Westminster’s services to residents through shared signposting by the group.
So far in the project, we ran a series of popular arts courses at different venues, including Pimlico Library, Queens Park Library and ‘The Showroom’ in Church Street. Local people enjoyed using a variety of arts media like printing, collage, watercolours and embroidery, to make their own story books about their lives.
We also took residents on sociable walks and visits including to Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace, the Saatchi Gallery and The Wallace Collection. We discovered more about London together and shared our own knowledge on guided walks of Little Venice, Marylebone Village and Pimlico – amongst many other places!
