Young Explorers

Young Explorers project aims to work with young people in north Kensington, engaging them in their local area through some discovery activities focusing on local history, and urban exploration.

Due to coronovirus we had to postpone many of our planned after school activities with local young people. However, so far we were able to deliver the following projects in 2020:

  • Half term recycled art project at the Adventure Playground, Little Wormwood Scrubs with the Adventure Centre.  https://urbanwise.london/news/
  • Portobello Road’s Black History Film, presented by Manny: soon to be available on our website.

We hope to continue the project as soon as the Venture Centre Youth provision is up and running again!

Young Explorers 2021

Our Young Explorers programme, offering hands-on activities to young people in the north Kensington area was up and running, following lockdown in 2021!

We offered a series of creative art workshops at Canalside Activity Centre, including screen printing, fabric art, paper making and learning to code.

During the summer term we ran Young Explorers at Little Wormwood Scrubs and the Venture Centre, including recycled art and tee shirt design and creation.

We also worked with the Venture Centre from May to November offering a range of arts sessions, jigsaw puzzle making, model making and exploring fabric art.

Local families came out with us on some family visits to Kew Gardens to enjoy exploring their local area and enjoy a day out together.
