Our first ‘Discover and Share’ project, funded by Westminster City council’s Community Priorities Fund, is taking place through winter and spring. ‘Discover and Share’ consists of some short arts, culture and heritage courses, discovery walks and visits to places of cultural interest. We were delighted to work with Queen’s Park English Speaking group on our first short course who used the arts to explore and reminisce their childhood, past and or journey to the UK. Notting Dale Future Neighbourhood 2030
Throughout the year we have been running some walks and workshops for adults, families and young people in the Notting Dale Area. The project engages local people in to Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea’s Future Neighbourhoods 2030 project. https://consult.rbkc.gov.uk/housing/notting-dale-future-neighbourhood-2030/ Future Neighbourhoods 20230 has led to some great environmental improvements in Notting Dale, including fitting solar panels on schools and other buildings, introducing the Library of Things at Kensington Leisure Centre, energy saving projects, community food growing and local biodiversity improvements in Avondale Park. Discover Your Westminster!
Our FREE 5 week short course starts on Thursday 16th November 2-3.30pm at Paddington Library. Join a friendly group to discover more about your local area. The course includes short walks, doing our own research and a visit to Westminster Local Archive Centre. At the end of the course students can share their discoveries with the rest of the group so we build up more knowledge of Westminster and its special places, characters and events!
