Volunteering with Urban Studies Centre

My name is Muna, I’m a student at St Charles College and for the past two weeks I’ve had the pleasure of volunteering with HFUSC as part of my work experience. I’ve been welcomed as part of the team and I’ve had the chance to take part in their educational outside-the-classroom projects such as the Tales of the Thames Path, School Travel project and Earl’s Court Project. One of my favourite projects to take part in was the Earl’s Court Project, where I worked with a local primary school that produced amazing work. I discovered with both the children and teachers alike how the local area is planned to change over the years to come. I believe that the work the team does is important as it gives children the opportunity to learn more about their community and their local environment, it combines education, adventure and fun. I look forward to volunteering at HFUSC again during the summer as I would like to work with the team beyond these two weeks. It’s been a delight to work with the team and I’d like to thank Moya, Carlos and Emily for this excellent opportunity.
