Vote for us! Tesco Bags for Help Scheme

We are delighted to have been shortlisted as one of three projects for the Tesco Bags of help scheme in Kensington and Chelsea.

Urbanwise.London are bidding to bag a massive cash boost from the Tesco Bags of Help initiative.  The scheme sees grants of £4,000, £2,000 and £1,000 – all raised from the 5p bag levy – being awarded to local community  projects.

Voting opens on 1st July and finishes on 31st August.  Customers can vote using a token given to them at the check-out in store each time they shop.

Through active local heritage tours exploring the local area, Urbanwise.London’s Local Outdoor Discovery Project will see participants learn about their local environmental quality, including air and noise pollution; take part in healthy guided walks, take steps to reduce their exposure to pollution and put forward ideas to improve the local environment and their own well being.

Funds will support Urbanwise.London with planning and delivery of education sessions, guided community walks and a celebration event bringing the participants together to share their experiences and ideas.

One local teacher recently said of the importance of experiences that Ubranwise.London provide ‘It’s great to give children a practical opportunity to learn outside the classroom and look at their every-day surroundings in a different way!
