Welcome Carlos!
Hammersmith and Fulham Urban Studies Centre have warmly welcomed Carlos Izsak to our team. Carlos started with us in Autumn 2015 and is leading out Heritage Lottery Funded Project, Tales of the Thames Path. The project celebrates 20 years of the Thames Path by exploring the local heritage and stories of the River Thames with local primary schools and volunteers. Blake’s Work Experience week
Hello, My name is Blake Officer and I am a student at Woodlane School. I have been doing my work here at the Urban Studies Centre for a week. The Urban Studies Centre work with children and young people and do lots of outdoor learning. Our Experience by Ryan & Tyrell Working here has been very different from school as you get treated as an equal, as though you are an adult. The employees who work here have been very friendly and helpful. Whilst here I have improved my communication skills and confidence as I have had to work with children from different schools which were equally different. Riverside Ecology Day
Fulham Wharf Jetty has been transformed to an environmental haven for wildlife on the River Thames. With a green and brown roof and proximity to the river, foreshore and local parks, there are many habitats to explore with opportunities to discover the riverside wildlife. Hammersmith and Fulham Urban Studies Centre held a Riverside Ecology Day in early July to explore the local wildlife with local people, connecting them to the ecology nearby.
