North End Road Summer Market
What a lovely day at the Summer Market on Saturday 27th June in Fulham! This was a special traffic free market day with lots of extra stalls in addition to the regular ones. The Urban Studies Centre was there with a display of Fulham Primary school’s Year 3 work on their North End Road project. The Panthers and Giraffes beautiful tee shirts were on display and it was great to meet so many children with their parents who stopped to do some crafts at the Urban Studies Stall and show parents their tee shirts and posters. …
Empty Classroom Day 20th June 2015!
The Urban Studies Centre has been busy with Empty Classroom Day Activities, including exploring the local area with Ashburnham and Park Walk Primary schools Years, 2, 3 and 4 in and finding out about their local Park- Westfield Park in Kensington and Chelsea. We are also discovering the fantastic food in Portobello Market (150 year anniversary!) with children from Fox Primary school, the Food Explorers and Kensington and Chelsea’s market managers. Taking the Primary Curriculum Outdoors at Holland Park
We spent a fantastic April day at Holland Park Ecology Centre delivering a CPD session with 8 teachers from schools in the Tri-borough area who want to make the most of their school’s outdoor environment for teaching science and geography. Trevor Bowyer from Holland Park’s Ecology team showed us the secrets of the wildlife pond and how we can support a lively science learning activity like pond dipping with a memorable craft by making a dragonfly form clay and horse chestnut leaves. Children’s Parliament on the Environment 2015
The Children’s Parliament event this year on the 25th March was enjoyed by all! Children from 10 Year 6 schools came together to present projects they had been working on with us and officers of the local authority and members of the community. There were some brilliant presentations.
