Old Oak : Sharing our ideas to improve our environment!
23rd October On Friday, our mini designers completed their URBAN STEAM project by presenting and filming their finished projects. The variety of ideas by the individuals and groups were pretty impressive for Year 4. Throughout the presentations and the project overall, it was clear that Old Oak children care a lot about their environment being built using recycled materials, having clean air and they take heed of the words of influential environmentalists such as Sir David Attenborough. Finishing Touches for Old Oak STEAM projects!
16th October This week was our final week of making our designs. We added our finishing touches to our designs and filled out an evaluation. We looked back over the project and celebrated our successes and thought about what we would change if we were to do the project again. We have decided we would like to present our work to members of staff at school. Miss Hepworth is kindly going to record the presentations of our projects so we can email them to our parents. In a normal situation our parents would come into school and watch an assembly…
Our new website is thanks to John Lyon’s Charity!

Organisations across London received funding this autumn to help them adapt the way they offer their services to their service users in the light of covid 19 restrictions. We were delighted to receive help to put together a new website. We have also been making the most of some great staff training and are busy creating some new resources for families and schools.…
Perfecting our Models!
Friday 9th October This week we are finalising our models and adding detail. Some of our designs have changed from our initial ideas as we realised that some of our ideas on paper do not always work out in reality. Some of us have decided to combine our projects together to improve them as our ideas were similar so we felt 4 hands are better than 2! We have thought more about the environment in our making and how we can incorporate ideas of improving thing s like making our air cleaner or using recyclable materials in our final project.…
