Nature Days Out for Families
This summer we enjoyed meeting new people and getting out and about with our ‘Nature Days out for Families’ project for people living in north Kensington affected by the Grenfell Tower fire. Our “Days Out’ included visits to The London Wetland Centre, Phoenix School Farm, Ravenscourt Park Glasshouses, Whipsnade Zoo and Kew Gardens. HCGA www.hcga.org.uk provided some lovely nature activities for families to take part in at Phoenix School Farm and at the Ravenscourt Park Glasshouses. Children’s Choice Conference: The World of Science at Science Museum June 2017
On Friday 16th June, more than 80 School Children from Hammersmith and Fulham and Kensington and Chelsea Schools attended the Children’s Choice conference. This years’ topic was The World of Science which we helped organise and was held at the Science Museum. We are delighted to have been shortlisted as one of three projects for the Tesco Bags of help scheme in Kensington and Chelsea. Urbanwise.London are bidding to bag a massive cash boost from the Tesco Bags of Help initiative. The scheme sees grants of £4,000, £2,000 and £1,000 – all raised from the 5p bag levy – being awarded to local community projects. Voting opens on 1st July and finishes on 31st August.
