Royal Gala evening at the Natural History Museum

Roehampton University Students helping in half term!
We are 2nd year, BA Primary Education students from the University of Roehampton. As part of the course for this year, the University has added in a brand new module titled ‘Enhanced Learning Experience’ of which the main focus is how children can still learn a lot, even though they are outside of the classroom! As part of the module, we had to undertake a week’s placement at an organisation where this could take place, and Urbanwise fitted this perfectly. Nature Discovery Days Out
Since last spring, we have been working with families in North Kensington on a lovely project supporting by The Big Lottery Fund : “Nature Discovery Days Out’. During the project we have visited some wonderful places to discover nature, relax, play and learn new things, including Kew Gardens, Odds Farms Park, Battersea Children’s Zoo, Holland Park Ecology Centre, River Thames Boat trip, Regents Canal Boat trip to Camden, Hampstead Heath and The London Wetland Centre. Everywhere we have been there has been a warm welcome for us and families have enjoyed getting away from their routines and enjoying green spaces…
City of London Walks this summer !
Thanks to a City of London grant this year we have enjoyed taking community groups and west London residents out and about in the City of London. Places we have visited include the Museum of London, The Guildhall, The Royal Exchange, the Guildhall Art Museum, Leadenhall Market, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Temple Inn and St. Brides Church. We visited the Sky Garden on top of the Walkie Talkie building in Fenchurch street to see an unrivalled panoramic view of the city, with the River Thames sparkling and winding before us. Hello, my name is Robert, having travelled to different parts of the world and worked in the logistics industry for several years, I began to grow an appreciation of the places I have visited. World Car Free Day 2017
On 22nd September Urbanwise.London collaborated with local organisations and schools to produce the World Car Free Day event in which 170 school children attended. Pupils from both KS1 and KS2 learnt about healthier, safer and more sustainable alternatives than just driving a car! Most importantly keeping the areas that we live in today with cleaner air for future generations.
