Students from Brackenbury Primary School, who participated in our Mudlarks Project, were invited on Friday 1st Nov to BBC Studios in White City to take part in their sustainability week. We are pleased to announce that we will be running the  Mudlarks Project again in 2020 with Hammersmith and Fulham schools. We will continue to focus on plastic pollution of the waterways while linking up with wider environmental concerns such as sustainability and climate change. The London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham has recently declared a climate emergency and we are aiming to link up with this initiative. For instance, all teachers from participating schools in Mudlarks II will be asked to complete a UN Climate Change Teacher Course which is being delivered in partnership with eduCCate Global. It’s been a great experience delivering our first Mudlarks project commissioned by London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham (LBHF) and in partnership with a wide range of other organisations:  The Royal College of Art (RCA), BBC Studios, Plogolution, Western Riverside Waste Authority, Thames 21, Lyric Theatre, The Whale Company, North End Road Market, Lilla Huset Professional Development, Canal and River Trust and 3BM. Who are we? We are two student representatives from King’s College London studying Environment, Politics and Globalisation for our Master’s degree. As part of our programme, we joined Urbanwise. London as part of our environmental internship, offering us external exposure on learning about the environment. Urbanwise London is a charity organisation that offers learning projects and activities for primary and secondary schools about their local urban environment aspects and also delivers environmental education sessions, both indoors and outdoors. Helped by two wonderful students from Roehampton University, Sam and Prenny, we were able to take quite a few Londoners out and about this half term to Discover their London.We had a great visit to the Sky Garden and a little walk around the green spaces of the City of London, despite the rain, with St. Andrews Youth Club from Fulham. The view was still amazing on a very cloudy day ! We also visited the Museum of London Docklands for the first time with some families from Family Lives project in Church street, Westminster and explored Canary Wharf’s roof…
